This policy explains how the My Lineup app (on iOS and Android) and this website, mylineupapp.com, handle your information. My Lineup is run by Alfie Tapping, an independent developer based in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). We are the controller of the personal data described here.
In short: you don't need an account to use My Lineup, the lineups, squads and players you create stay on your device, and the information we do receive comes through the service providers listed below, which run the app's ads, analytics, crash reporting, purchases and feedback.
What stays on your device
Everything you create in the app is stored only on your phone or tablet, and is not sent to us:
- Lineups, formations, squads, kits and settings.
- Custom players you create, including any names you type in.
- Photos you add to custom players or badges. The app only reads a photo when you choose one, and only accesses your photo library when you pick a photo or save a lineup image.
Deleting the app deletes this data. If you share a lineup image, it goes wherever you choose to send it.
Information our service providers receive
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version of the app shows ads from Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google receives information such as your device's advertising identifier, IP address, device type and app interactions with ads.
- iPhone and iPad: the app asks for permission before your advertising identifier can be used for tracking. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- UK, EEA and Switzerland: a consent message powered by Google lets you choose whether ads can be personalised. Without your consent, Google shows non-personalised ads.
- Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's Google settings.
See how Google uses information in ads.
Analytics and crash reports (Google Firebase)
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used, such as which features are popular, and Firebase Crashlytics to find and fix crashes. These collect usage events, crash details, device model, operating system, app version, an app-instance identifier and approximate location derived from your IP address. We also use Firebase Remote Config to adjust app settings without an update. This data is not used to identify you personally. See Firebase privacy and security.
Purchases and subscriptions (Apple, Google and RevenueCat)
Payments are handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play, and we never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat to check which purchases and subscriptions you have, using an anonymous app identifier along with your purchase history and subscription status. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Feedback (Sleekplan)
If you send feedback from inside the app, the form is provided by Sleekplan. Whatever you write, and any email address you choose to give, is sent to Sleekplan so we can read and reply to it. See Sleekplan's privacy policy.
Player photos, kits and other content
The app downloads player photos, kits and player data from content delivery networks, some run by us and some by third parties. As with any download, those servers receive your IP address and basic technical details of the request.
Reviews
The app may ask you to rate it. Ratings and reviews are handled by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies; we don't receive any personal information from the prompt.
This website
mylineupapp.com doesn't use cookies, analytics or advertising. It's hosted on Cloudflare, which processes basic request information (such as your IP address) to deliver and protect the site. Pages load the Inter font from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when you visit.
Why we use this information
Under UK and EU data protection law, we rely on:
- Consent for personalised advertising and tracking. You can withdraw it at any time using the settings above.
- Our legitimate interests in keeping the app working, fixing crashes, understanding how it's used, showing non-personalised ads to keep it free, and preventing misuse.
- Performing our contract with you when you buy a subscription or make a purchase.
We don't sell your personal information.
How long information is kept
Data in the app stays on your device until you delete it or the app. Information held by our service providers is kept in line with their retention settings and policies, and only for as long as it's needed for the purposes above.
International transfers
Some of our service providers process data outside the UK and EEA, including in the United States. Where they do, they rely on recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict how it's used, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. Because the app doesn't use accounts, we usually can't link data held by our service providers to you. If you contact us, we'll help as far as we can, and we may ask for details such as the app-instance identifier to find the right data.
If you're in the UK, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. In the EU, you can contact your local data protection authority.
Children
My Lineup isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. If the changes are significant, we'll let you know in the app or on this page.
